Jim,

I double checked the NAQP rules just now and do not see any requirement regarding type of antennas used.  Only in two cases do I find “antenna” referenced; one in the single op classification relative to adjustments and the other in the station requirement…all radio transmitters, receivers, and antennas used by an entrant must be associated with one station…

That being said, all my antennas are wire…wish I had the option of some aluminum in the air but I would have to move.

I can't find that we were to use only wire antennas for NAQP.  I looked again.  

What rule prohibits beams?
