Jim,
Was that a sarcastic statement because of the comments I made on my 3830 NAQP CW posting? Everyone knows there isn't any contest that dictates what type of antennas you can use. The CQ WPX contest has an overlay category for tribander/wires so those with smaller antennas compete against each other. I wish more contests would do that so you would compete against similarly equipped stations. Of course no contest will ever be fair because of geographical/propagation differences.

Jim,
I double checked the NAQP rules just now and do not see any requirement regarding type of antennas used. Only in two cases do I find “antenna” referenced; one in the single op classification relative to adjustments and the other in the station requirement…all radio transmitters, receivers, and antennas used by an entrant must be associated with one station…
That being said, all my antennas are wire…wish I had the option of some aluminum in the air but I would have to move.

Subject: [SECC] NAQP - Wire Antennas?
I can't find that we were to use only wire antennas for NAQP. I looked again.
What rule prohibits beams?
