I finally got a dedicated 160M antenna raised in my backyard, and figured out how to get a real signal out on the topband. This was also the first contest where I ran for more than limited time periods, and I had got numerous GA&AL contacts that way. Thanks for calling me, even with my still quite limited CW skills--thank you doubly for your patience as I asked for numerous repeats. But I have a ways to go, as I only managed two EU contacts, both on the first night. Thanks John for Bonaire, and it is already confirmed in LoTW -- only 90 countries to go for 160M DXCC. I also need to work on my stamina, as I went to bed by 10pm on the second night.

Comments:

Built my first 160M antenna this week, more inverted-U than inverted-L, but
better than anything else I've used. Could only get 300W out of the amp, but
enough to have some real fun. Based on my limited success working EU, I can see
I'll need to make some upgrades.
