For the last couple of months I have been noticing an uptake on the noise floor when ever I would beam North. This past week end it took a turn for the worse. So I took a ride in my pick up down the dirt road just North of my house where a 3 phase power line goes about 1/2 mile to a big water well/pumping station. I had the 2 mtr rig turned to the AM aircraft band 127.375 and sure enough the closer I go to the well the worse it got.... something gone awry... insulator cracked or something. Called the power company and had a conversation with a lady who was clueless about RFI... finally said someone would be out in the morning. The repair guy for my area is familiar with my issues and he will get it straightened out. I normally get him out every 3 or 4 years to tighten up the wire connections on the transformers.... heat/cooling they loosen up over time and start up some noise. Hopefully back to normal soon and I get get a crack at VP8PJ on RTTY! 73's Cort K4WI
