Well I decided to join the SECC earlier this year to get re-involved in a Contest Club, I think I made a mistake. The continuing post by several members re FT8 and Digi is getting ridiculous. Each Licensed Amateur Operator has the right to choose their Modes and types of operations as they desire within the limits of their license. There are numerous modes and interests in Amateur Radio and thankfully that helps to instill interest from new and old "hams". IF we still only had CW and SSB as our only modes of operation, our hobby would have died years ago. I have been operating for over 49 years, love DX'ing and contesting but also enjoy many other modes. I have worked 364 countries on CW and SSB so please don't start telling me what skill it takes to operate. Some of your posts are totally inaccurate and misleading. CW is the very first and number one Digital Mode and RTTY is also Digital requiring some "machine" or computer, I have not figured out how to copy RTTY by ear nor send with a key. IF this is what I should continue to read on the SECC Reflector then I think I should move on to some other Contest Club. Everyone has the right to express their opinions but at least be sure you know what you are talking about. Stop trying to make your operating preferences more important than others.
With respect and 73's,
