[SEDXC] MEETING UPDATE

Had great sit down meal before the meeting with some good ragchew.  W4GF
telling about his 3 ele 30 M beam at 130 ft I believe.  He owns 30 M now.  I
think that is the biggest 30 M antenna in the area.  Had good showing from
Athens.  We had 4 members from over there.  At the meeting I brought up the
nomination for the DXCC Advisor post.  There was a motion brought up and
seconded that we submit all 3 as they were all very worthy and W4RH had
planned to make the final decision anyway.  It passed and I will send the
info to W4RH.  We also discussed the outgoing QSL bureau that we handle for
members.  The feeling was the we should continue doing this but there was a
stipulation made and it was voted on,  that any cards handled by the club
should be for the members home or mobile station.  Also Nancy does not want
to be the manager anymore so we still will need someone to do this chore.
It involves merging the cards together from each member that submits cards
as the whole group that is sent must be in alphabetical order.  Any
volunteers out there?  We raffled off a 600 W UPS system that was donated to
the club by WB4SQ.   The club raised $65  which is a nice chunk of change.
If anyone else has anything they would like to donate to the club to raffle
we will gladly accept. HI.  We then had our show and tell and there we some
very interesting things.  There was one piece of radio gear that had a
component on it from an animal that was over 50,000 years old.  Ask K2UFT is
you are curious.  The Kingman guys should be on in a couple of days . Put
any reports you feel that may be of interest about the expedition here on
the reflector.  73
