This has been floating around on various reflectors. I have owned an Alpha
for 20+ years and it's always been my favorite piece of HAM gear.

Originally saw this on the packet(internet) clusters. An FYI=20
message

message to all ALPHA customers, fans and friends...

As you know, we sold Ehrhorn Technological Operations, Inc.=20
several years ago. I subsequently repurchased the ALPHA amateur=20
radio amplifier line that long had been ETO=92s raison d=92=EAtre, and=20
incorporated it as Alpha/Power, Inc. Although I had devoted 25=20
years to ETO/ALPHA and wanted to pursue other interests long=20
postponed, I also strongly wanted the ALPHA tradition to be=20
carried on.=20

Fortunately, almost three years ago I was able to persuade John=20
Brosnahan, W0UN, to become president and technical director of=20
Alpha/Power. Under John=92s leadership, Alpha/Power=92s worldwide=20
reputation for delivering the most advanced and finest HF power=20
amplifiers and customer service in amateur radio has been=20
enhanced even more. But a combination of health issues and=20
family obligations now makes it impossible for John to continue=20
devoting all or most of his time to ALPHA operations.=20

We=92ve had a great run of more than three decades "on top" ... I=92m=20
not willing to risk that ALPHA legacy. Nor am I aware of any=20
person or entity with the desire, the proven ability, the=20
commitment, and the resources to acquire ALPHA and perpetuate=20
the standards to which we=92ve been dedicated for thirty-one years. In=20
the event such interest does exist, however, we remain open to=20
serious discussions. In the meantime...

When the current run of ALPHA 87A and ALPHA 99 amplifiers is=20
completed, we will terminate engineering and manufacturing=20
operations.=20

Warranty and post-warranty service will continue to be available at=20
ALPHA/POWER in Longmont, Colorado - at its current street and=20
e-mail addresses, phone and FAX numbers. Every warranty will be=20
honored in full. And, of course, this final batch of new amplifiers will=20
carry ALPHA=92s standard 4-year, non-prorated limited warranty.=20

This very likely is the last chance to buy a factory-new, fully=20
warranted ALPHA 87A or ALPHA 99. We suggest acting quickly to=20
avoid missing it. ALPHA amplifier specs and photos are on our web=20
site www.alpha-power-inc.com. For delivery information and to=20
order, call Scott or Dianne at (970) 535-4173.

73 ... and may The Power be with you!
