I regret that I will not be able to be at the hamfest this Saturday.
Unfortunately, I have not yet got all our tax info to the accountant and that will
have to be done this weekend. It usually takes the better part of a weekend to
get it done. I hope we will continue the Ga QSO Party, but only if we can have
some assurance that we will be able to get out results from 2000. Also, please
again ask if anyone will take over the matter of ordering plaques (designing them,
etc.) for me. I will provide all the info on the 1999 plaques plus the money for
them. If not, I will still get it done sometime, but it is clear that I am having
a hard time doing this fairly simple thing. If we do have a GQP this year, we
need to move it off the 4th weekend in July, which is what most of the contest
calendars are showing, since that weekend is the IOTA contest weekend and that is
a hugely popular contest on both modes that takes up most of the contesting part
of all bands. I recommend the third full weekend in July this year, which has no
substantial conflict. If we are to have one in July 2001, we need to get the
publicity out pretty quick along with the results from last year and the plaques
from 1999 and 2000.

I hope everyone has a good time this weekend. For those of you who will be home,
the Russian DX Contest runs 12Z Sat to 12Z Sunday. I have a message at home about
the URL, etc. and will forard it to the reflector tonight.

I am sending a copy of this message to the SEDXC reflector also, since SEDXC has
cosponsored the GQP for the last two years. Following this message, I will
forward a copy of Jay's original message to the SEDXC reflector, which will give
the time and place for the SECC meeting Saturday to discuss, among other things,
the 2001 GQP.

73, John, K4BAI.
