I visited Phil yesterday (Friday) afternoon at ARMC. He looked more
rested, commenting that he had had a good night's sleep Thursday night.
He MAY be released from the hospital by Monday or Tuesday if he continues
to improve. His lungs seem to be a matter of concern and he is breathing
a mixture of oxygen and medication to prevent pneumonia and clear up some
fluid which was detected some days ago. He is clearly overcoming the
weakening effects of the surgery. He seemed less concerned about his
overall condition than he had appeared to be on Tuesday during my visit.
He sends his thanks to all who have sent messages of support and good
wishes and instructed me on making a trip to his daughter's house (where
he lives) to check out his rig and amp and setting up his packet equipment
so that he can receive the cluster and begin dxing the moment he arrives
at home! I hope that in the next couple of days or so I can report to you
that Phil is comfortably back at home. Best 73! Pat, W4NW
