Recap of SEDXC Meeting February 19, 2002.

This was the first meeting at the new QTH (Fuqua Heart Center Classroom =
at Piedmont Hospital).  For directions go to:  =
http://www.peachtreecardio.net/sedxc_qth.htm.  There was a good turnout =
for dinner prior to the meeting.  We ate at Panera Bread which is =
several blocks North of Piedmont Hospital on Peachtree Road.

Items discussed/announcements were as follows:

  1.. Outgoing QSL Cards:  will now be handled by Bill Barr, N4NX
  2.. CQ 160M Phone contest:  Feb 22-24,  Work it for the SEDXC
  3.. Cluster report-More fine tuning completed by N4XMX & KS4Q
  4.. Kennahoochee Hamfest March 16-17.    The SEDXC will have a table.  =

  5.. Jim Worthington, AD4J is working on the web site to clean it up =
and to access it via either SEDXC url.

Voted to send $125.00 donation for San Felix (CE0) Dxpedition.  Member =

Voted to not send donation for Cocos Island Dxpedition

New Business:

Table at Kennahooche Hamfest:  The club will need volunteers to sign up =
to man the table/booth.  Send your preferences to me @  sedxc@kauten.com =
or to Wes Lamboley, W3WL @  blamboley@aol.com.  There were a good number =
of members at the club meeting volunteering to help.  We would like to =
have the table at least for the entire time of Saturday and perhaps =
Sunday if there is enough interest.

Presentation was on the 3Y0PI Dxpedition in 1994.  Bob Allphin, K4UEE =
brought a video which was enjoyed by all.  K9AY was originally slated to =
give a talk but had to cancel until a later date.

We also had a special edition preview of the South Sandwich and South =
Georgia Island Dxpeditions that was recently attended by Wes Lamboley, =
W3WL and Bob Allphin, K4UEE.  This is a very interesting story which =
should cover at least 3 meetings with pictures of some incredibly =
beautiful places on our Earth.

Comments were favorable on the new meeting location.  We hope to see =
more of you at the next meeting.
