Hello all: We need to get organized for the Georgia QSO Party for this
year. We need to select a date. I think the third weekend in July,
July 20 and 21 is pretty clear and that is the weekend we have used last
year. Mike, NE4S, are you available to do your same log receiving and
scoring this year? If not, can you help someone else with the WT4I
software? Jere, can you do the certificates again? Have they all been
sent out for last year? If not, maybe we could include a copy of the
rules for 2002 with the results and certificates. Last year, K8KFJ
asked us to consider changing some of the SSB frequencies because they
are right on the edge of the General class bands. Those would be 7225
and 21300. What frequency is our 75 meter frequency? I think it is
3900? If it is 3850, we would be on the band edge there too. What
about changing the frequencies to 3900, 7245 (any other suggestions?),
and 21370?

Who will take care of the publicity? Info needs to be sent to the
Contest Coral of ARRL, CQ Magazine (all they publish these days is the
contest dates), World Radio, and the contest pages of WA7BNM, SM3CER,
LA9HW, and the QRP page. Also County Hunters. W4RU used to send the
info by e-mail to his Ga ARRL mailing list and I assume the current Ga
SM for ARRL would do the same thing.

K4OGG, can you do the plaques again now that you have broken that
ground? If so, we need volunteers for plaques. I can mention this to
SEDXC tomorrow at its meeting. I want to sponsor my usual one plus the
one my father used to sponsor, that one in memory of K4VGI.

Other ideas or suggestions?

Whatever date we select, the success will depend on how many Ga stations
are active. The best way to enjoy this contest from inside GA is to do
it mobile or as a rover.

73,

John, K4BAI.
