First of all, I hope everybody enjoyed the July newsletter. If you have
anything for the August newsletter, now is the time to send it in to me.
rglisson@america.net

The packet cluster computer has been updated from Win 98 to Win XP, which
should provide extra stability. This also allows us to use the BPQ 32
software instead of AGW to interface with the ARCDX machine on 145.65. This
should provide everybody with a more stable connection through ARCDX. You
can also connect direct if you are in line with my beam, pointing from
Smyrna to the center of Atlanta. Everyone else is welcome to use the
omnidirectional antenna on 144.91 direct. Hopefully Allen, WB4GNT, will fix
his hard line so that the GNT node will be functioning again. He had to get
some special connectors made to splice his hard line. (Allen tells me he
was weeding in the back and found a particularly tough root . . . . .
;-( As Gomer used to say, "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!")

Please give ARCDX another shot, and let me know your comments, especially
those who have had problems in the past, such as K4PI and K4VT.

Thanks all,

73
