The SEDXC met at the new QTH (Fuqua Heart Center Classroom at Piedmont =
Hospital).  For directions go to: =

There was a good turnout for dinner prior to the meeting.  We ate at =
Panera Bread, which is several blocks North of Piedmont Hospital on =
Peachtree Road. =20

There were 26 attendees.

Items discussed/announcements were as follows:

  1.. Dues are due for the 2002-2003 year.  Please bring them to the =
meeting or send them to the SEDXC Post Office Box.
  2.. Bob Allphin, K4UEE discussed the importance of supporting the =
Northern California DX Foundation.  Several SEDXC members are members.  =
This organization provides generous support to many Dxpeditions.  They =
can be found at www.ncdxf.org.  You see their logo on many of the QSL =
received from Dxpeditions.
  3.. Bob also discussed the WRTC 2002, which will be held during the =
IARU contest.  These 52 two-man teams will operate with OJ1-OJ8 =
prefixes.  Try to work as many of them as you can.  Local competitors =
include members, K4BAI and W4AN.  Per Bob: ".the WRTC is asking that raw =
logs of the IARU contest (that includes the WRTC competition) be sent =
immediately to Finland to assist in the scoring of the WRTC teams".

Elections for the 2002-2003 year were held.  The following officers were =
elected by acclamation:

            Treasurer:                  Harry D. Saunders, W4KJ

The presentation this week was given by Joe Owen, KO4RR on the =
experience of the XR0X Dxpedition held in March of this year.  A great =
slide show presentation was given and a good discussion followed. =20

=20

An unexpected surprise guest was also present, Dick Hanson, K5AND.  Dick =
was also on the XR0X Dxpedition and was the 6M specialist.  A good =
discussion about 6M operating and propagation, etc. was held.  Thanks =
for coming and contributing, Dick!

The operating skills and pile up management of this Dxpedition was top =
notch.  If you did not work them there must be something wrong with your =
radio or antenna system.

We hope to see more of you at the next meeting.  There is plenty of =
room.
