[SEDXC] 4w Timor Problems

The May 26th Edition of the OPDX Bulletin (available on the web) says that
problems have occurred in the administration of the new 4W DXCC country.
Seems the UN was never granted
interim admin so some feel that contacts with UN amateurs (most) may not be
good for the new country.  The date of independence was sometime in 2002.
Nothing has been heard from the ARRL this past week so I assume they are
checking with the US State Dept for a clarification.
JA1BK and others are planning to go there soon to make sure we get good
contacts.

I look back at the operation of Carl and Martha in E30 in the early 1990's.
The ARRL might have set a precedent by accepting their operation after they
became separate but before actual independence.  A close parallel to 4W
Timor.   Maybe now they will count my CR10BH Bill Hemple card again...HI
