Many of you may be familiar with the Battle Creek Special. It is an antenna
built by a group in Battle Creek MI and it is used on 160/80/40. They ship
it to groups going on expeditions free of charge. Examples, XR0Y, 3B7RF,
9M0C, ZL9CI, K1B(KH1), TX0C, K5K(KH5K), FO0AAA, VK0IR, ZS8IR, CY0XX, CY9A,
VP8SGP, VK9XX/YY, to mention a few. The money they use to do this shipping
is from donations. They are presently replenishing their funds. If you are
a low band operator you might be interested in dropping them a few dollars
to help out. They have a couple of the Specials that they ship and they
have been many places. One will be going on the Peter 1 trip coming up next
year. You can see a picture of the antenna and it's shipping box in ON4UN's
Low Band DXing book. If you care to send anything send it to W8UVZ. If you
need any other info on this groups efforts let me know. If you send a check
you might put SEDXC on it to let them know this club supports them in their
efforts. 73 Mike K4PI
