Hello SECC, SEDXC and GSN members:

Below, you will find a message from Cuba McKay, the widow of the late
Archie McKay, of Sky Valley, GA.

Columbus is a long way from Sky Valley and I don't know anything about
selling ham gear on eHam or even e-Bay. Is there someone closer to Sky
Valley who could help Cuba do an inventory and advise her on disposition
of Archie's gear and perhaps some ham radio memorabilia? If so, please
let me know or reply directly to Cuba with a copy to me, so I will know
that I don't need to ask elsewhere. I know that Archie had a Tentec
transceiver. There may be something wrong with the power supply as he
had asked me to send him mine to use while he was visiting in Las Vegas,
but he died before it got there. He also has an Ameritron AL80B that
was fairly recently repaired by Billy Ley in Quitman, GA after American
Airlines broke it when I carried it with me to Barbados in Nov. 1999.
He also had a small tribander up, if I am not mistaken.

Many thanks for any help.

73,

John, K4BAI.

Hi, John:
I have just gotten back from Las Vegas. I have your radio you sent to
Archie. I will try to get it to UPS tomorrow to send it back to you.
Unfortunately, he didn't get to use it, but I know he appreciated your
willingness to loan it to him.
I would like to ask you advice on how to go about selling his radio
gear. Our son, Nick, is not interested in becoming a ham, and I would like
to sell the gear. I have no idea what it is worth. I know what he paid as
he bought things; but as you well know, that is not what they are now worth.
On top of that, I don't even know what some of the stuff is. I would
appreciate any advice you can give me.
Thanks for your friendship to him through the years.
Cuba McKay
