For once something went right.  I work evenings so I am not home when the 
high bands open to the Pacific.   The only hole in my Kure list is 24 Mhz. 
I had been watching them all week and seeing it was tough for the GA crowd 
on 24 Mhz.  Friday and Saturday being my days off I had made plans to be in 
front of the radio for hours calling them during the sundown time period. 
About 2045 I warmed up the amp and was getting everything all set up just in 
case.  The earliest they had ever been spotten on 12 was 2049.  I was 
setting the xcvr up for the CW band and get ready to set the SSB freq in the 
other register when I heard someone calling CQ on 24892 about 559 and darn 
if it wasn't the K7C calling CQ over and over listening simplex.  One call 
and I logged him.  I had seen on their DXA page where they had been on 30, 
20 and 17 and the 30 light was out but no light on 12 so I was wondering 
maybe it was a pirate.  I was logged into DXA and talking to a friend on the 
phone when all of a sudden my call and pops up for 12 M logged and the 12 M 
light was on.  In the log at 2051 and I put him out and a few other stations 
showed up but he went right into the noise and I never heard him again until 
later around 2300 when I came back into the shack.  Sometimes things do work
