I just checked the VU7 logs, and to my shock my Q for 17M SSB shows up.
I sent a note out the day when I thought I worked them,
but due to the email group delay by the time it was seen it was too late.
Window to hear them was like 20 minutes short path.
It was that short, or they just turned the antenna the other way and started working EU.
Anyways what I found interesting that day, and the impression I got from listening.
They were just repeating the station's heard call with a 59, and hopefully logged them.
Did not wait for the reply, and went to the next one.
They were sending calls and 59 just way to fast I thought.
It reminded me of the day I worked the first Space Shuttle where you just yelled on 2M,
and you found out later that they heard you when they posted the log.
I logged the VU7 Q thinking I would check the online logs later, and sure nuf, there it is this morning.
I was happy with one band, now I got two...
It's all been luck in waiting and waiting for either the band to change, or for them to have more of an interest to work the US.
I really think it's been the latter.

Keith, K4KAL
