[SEDXC] [SECC] Elecraft hi power amps

In 1960 the Collins KWM-2 transceiver cost around $1200.00. I suppose
things are all relative. If I needed a new linear I would not hesitate
to buy an Elecraft linear in that price range.
Incidentally, my KWM-2A has been realigned & components replaced with
the aid of a Spectrum Analyzer. They were test-selected for optimum
values. It
is actually more sensitive than my ORION I. However, it does not have
the bells and whistles of the ORION.
I know that several of the "rice box" transceivers are around $10,000.
However, I personally would look at the ORION II, Harris R.F., or
Collins Avionics before I would spend that kind of money.

Well, if you don't mind taking out a second mortgage to buy an
amplifier....
Seriously, though, for the crowd that can afford $3-10 K for a radio,
this is going to be a really excellent amplifier. And Elecraft has
promised that they have other amplifier products in the pipeline that
may be more affordable (if less featured).
The best benefit for finally releasing this product is that it will
unstick Elecraft. They haven't released any significant new products
in two years! I'm really looking forward to perhaps an improved SSB
module for the K2, a new firmware release, and perhaps the oft-
rumoured, but probably non-existent K3.
