I have a friend with a Mobile, W6AQ mobile whip and 500 watt amp.  He got in
town and as we sat in the car I worked 3Y0 on 20 SSB late last night.
N4GRN was operating.

This afternoon they were on 12 CW, 15 SSB, and 17 SSB.  We drove over to a
high point near Berkeley Lake and it took a few calls but worked them on
both bands once I figured out where they were really listening.  I heard
WB4SQ and WA4HNL (way to go Joel) work them on 17.  We tried several minutes
but they were too weak on 12 CW and all he had was a memory keyer on his
console.  12 would be a brand new band but as N4LR said maybe I worked the
first or second one and just forgot sorta like K4RPK working Heard and
finding he had a card from there already sorted into Antartica not Heard!

One of the phone ops has a voice that just does not come thru.  He was on 15
this afternoon and they went from Q5 S5 to Q2 S5 when his turn came.  Sounds
like the same op who was on 75 SSB late last night.  You could hear him
about 50% of the time.  I thought it was just QSB but the signal was steady
on my 80 meter half square but his voice just does not cut it.  He replaced
N4GRN on 15 and I was all ready to try them from home today when he came on.
Glad the spanish fellow was on 15 when we were working mobile.
