[SEDXC] Test Equipment w/ Assistance Needed

JT,

I built a K1-4 several months ago and it works great. One problem area is
winding the toroids and even more so the proper solder technique for the
toroid leads that go to the circuit board.

I do have all of the necessary test equipment by Hewlett-Packard and you are
welcome to come by some weekend. I'll be glad to check it out for you.

I even have a dual-trace component checker that will test solid state
devices on the board.

John, W4NU

Subject: [SEDXC] Test Equipment w/ Assistance Needed

Anyone Elecraft gurus among us with proper test equipment to sit down
with me and help me do an accurate alignment of my K1 and three filter
boards?

I recently acquired a pre-built K1 that had been passed down a few
times from the original builder. Although the rig worked fine out of
the box, the original builder did a pretty half-assed soldering job,
using poor solder, and even left as many as 6 pins unsoldered. I
cleaned it up the best I could and built three filter boards for it
(80/40 30/17 20/15), applied the latest mods to bring it up from a
Rev. D board to a Rev. F board, and aligned it roughly with the bare
minimum of equipment. I also added the backlight kit.

I'm not confident of the accuracy of my signal sources and I am having
problems aligning the antenna tuner using the alternate RF probe
method specified in the manual. I'd really like to get this rig
aligned as accurately as possible.

Would greatly appreciate any assistance.
