[SEDXC] 100 Watts to a Wire Plaque

Many, many thanks to the Club for sponsoring this
contest.  The plaque is absolutely terrific :-)

The contest was just what I needed to get me actually
operating and working DX again.  Like many of us, I'd
gotten to the point where there were only a few left
to work in my country totals and the likelihood of
them being on anytime soon was very remote.

Put that together with my Virginia-Highland location;
just a couple of wires in the oak and pecan trees, and
a pretty much constant noise level in the S-7 (on a
good day) to S-9 (most of the time) range meant that
I'd spend my time tuning around eavesdropping and
working an occasional dx station - not really
operating - just lurking.  The contest gave me
something to shoot for - just the nudge I needed!

Thanks again for lighting the fire.  All have a Happy
New Year - surely the "Good Days" are just ahead!  73
