Well this will make me the red headed step child, especially since so few
people know me.
Many great DX and contest hams are not members of this club and do not hang
out on repeaters. Do we mail announcements? Do we still do school education?
Do we post contest at HRO? Do we post the Georgia QSO in CQ, QST, and World
Radio? Do we make a list of the counties available on our website and do we
have a search engine key for Georgia QSO party? Do we have members that
teach and/or have a VEC team?
It seems like we focus on getting the rare country DXepdition we need, and
not promoting ham radio and Georgia in general. Personally I know the DX
club is the best club in Atlanta and the best group of guys. I also know we
do what we can, but perception can mean a lot.
I can't travel to the convention, put antenna's up, or move equipment around
but I if I could go I would support John's idea. Lets make it /50! Lets
advertise and make the next Georgia QSO party the best in the country! and
lets have a certificate available as John suggest.
Also, can I ask where we are doing field day?
Thanks
Bill
