My recollection is that Ed Mau's call was W4BYU.  Nearly 100% sure, but 
haven't looked it up.  --OK, now I have checked my QSL file.  I have a 
QSL from Ed Mau, W4BYU, ex 4BG.  QSO was Dec 16, 1961,  He was using a 
KWS-1. 75A4 and 3 element TA33.  Also had a Collins  310B exciter to a 
pair of 4-125s.  Our WASl was on 20M CW.  It shows:  CHC 357 and QCWA 
2831.  It also says "PSE QSL.  In need wallpaper!"  My recollection is 
that Ed was very active in SEDXC and had beautiful CW note and fist.
