[SEDXC] Steve's Surgery

   This is from Carol Schrader, WI4K and is about her husband Steve WA4GOX. 
Both lived in Atlanta and were members of the SEDXC.  If my memory servers 
me correctly, Carol was an officer of the club and big time DXer.  I 
thought that some of you that remember Steve and Carol might want to

Dear Friends,
Steve's surgery today was successful.  It was an 8 - 9 hour procedure, 
removing the bladder and prostate, with a 13 1/2 hour waiting room time for 
our family.  My sister, his sister, and the man responsible for us having 
moved to Virginia were with me.  We had a 3 hour scare when they found a 
mass in his colon.  They called in a colon specialist who removed it before 
they proceeded with what had been previously planned.  But after removal 
they feel certain that it is benign.  We got to see Steve for a few minutes 
in ICU and have just gotten home.  I spent last night in a chair in his 
hospital room.  Needless to say it has been a very stressful two 
days.  Thank you for all your care and concern.
