No airstrip on such an atoll. That was Palmyra KP5/KH5. Palmyra is
privately owned since WWII. W6OAT and the gang went there to activate KP6
Kingman Reef in 1974 and there was a murder about that time that has been
made into a movie. They asked the Dxpedition to testify they saw both ships
there. Their pilot was Jack KH6CC who is a famous 160 meter op.
There may have been a problem as I seem to remember that Clipperton was off
limits for a number of years as one or two of the Dxpeditions
(Maybe even Danny of Yasme) went there without permission.
Aren't Dxpeditions a wild and wooly world?
