As a new SEDXC memeber, greetings to all.
Having recently relocated from Colorado, I am in the process of stringing wire for HF antennas in the woods behind the house. I have, however, exhausted my supply of coax. In looking at other sources other than my usual supplier (i.e., Wireman), I have noticed several low cost alternatives to LMR-400. Most noteably, a Commscope version (WBC400) and a generic version (RFC400), from DBJ Radio and Electronics and Shireen respectively. Reference the links:

Anyone have any experience with these prodcuts in terms of electronic performance, ease of use, cable quality, and potential longenvity of the jacket to UV exposure and the elements? In the past, I have primarily used Davis RF BuryFlex, and I have no experience with these lower cost alternatives. My engineering mindset tells me to stick with the BuryFlex at about $1.00 foot with shipping. But my fiscal mindset (i.e, I am a cheapstake) is intrigued with the price of the alternmatives at approximately $0.65 and $0.40 a foot.
Opinions and feedback are welcome. I should mention my application is for HF only. with all antennas being relatively resonant wire configurations in trees at 50 to 60 feet.
Thanks,
John W2FV
