Must be Spring!

In my quest to try pretty much everything, I've gone down the path of "automatic KW transceivers" and am happy to report that this Yaesu System does indeed work and works quite nicely. Now I've satisfied my curiosity (that didn't take long!) and it's time to move on!

So - FOR SALE - offered first to dues paying SEDXC members.

Yaesu Quadra System (covers 160 - 6 including WARC)

As close to "new" as you can get without shuffling into HRO, plunking down about $3400 (about 3200 + about 200 tax at 6 say %) - and yes, that includes the coupon) and awaiting shippment.

I've put about one (1) hour of transmit time on it!

If you want to see what the Quadra looks like, see page 8 of the May 2009 issue of QST (mine just came!) or go to:

This Quadra is “sort of” like new. It’s “sort of” because the guy I bought it from bought it new and had it shipped directly to him from the factory a few months ago (November 2008). Apparently the dealers don't actually stock Quadras but you order one and the factory ships it to you!

Bottom line is that in the four (4) months that he had it, he never even put a plug on it! So, other than the factory guys and gals, I’m the first person to have put power to it! Of course, it came factory packed in the triple boxes with the cables, etc. It's about as close to "new" as one could get other than having direct factory shipping to your door!

Since I had to add the plug of my choice (comes from the factory with power cable but no plug), it has a 240 volt plug on it. If you want to run it on 120, you change the plug. Since it senses the input voltage, there are no switches or jumpers. Plug it in and go - simple as that!

The supplied Yaesu Band-Data Cable makes it auto-bandswitching with Yaesu rigs (turns your FT-1000, FT-1000D, Mark V, 2000, 9000 and other Yaesu rigs into a KW Transceiver!)and with the correct BCD output will auto-switch with other rigs. Some guys and gals are using the Quadra with the Elecraft K3 and the Orion II with auto-bandswitch as well. Of course, it can be manually switched. If you've ever seen the guts of a Quadra you know it's built like a tank - beautifully done and works like it should.

I got an excellent buy on it - paid $2600. Since I've "rented" it for about an hour, I'd like to come as close as possible to that but will consider a reasonable "discount" for our SEDXC family - as usual!

If you've ever wanted a Quadra, this is it!

All questions cheerfully answered! Best and quickest way to get me is 404-218-3595 Cellular. '73 -- Don
