[SEDXC] GA QSO Party 50th Anniversary

The GA QSO Party  turns 50 this year, and in case you somehow have missed
it, GAQP has become one of the premiere QSO Party events in the nation.  In
fact, quite a few folks rank it at the very top of the pack.

 

The QSO Party team is already at work planning for the 2011 edition.  As you
know, SEDXC is co-sponsor of the event.  Along with SECC, we'd like to make
this QSO party especially memorable.  You may recall that during the SEDXC
50th anniversary year we held a special  DX contest, used special 50th QSL
cards, flooded Dayton and local hamfests with SEDXC 50th buttons with a
clever misspelling for increased interest, etc.

 

The GAQP team has asked us and SECC to come up with appropriate ideas such
as these and to execute them while the GAQP team proceeds with their massive
annual job of setting up and managing the QSO party.

 

We need several volunteers for these added special aspects of the 50th year
event.  If you would be willing to work on a small team to do this, please
send an email to me at w2wg at comcast.net  .  We can supply you with "seed"
ideas, but I bet our creative membership can come up some even better ones.

 

It will be a good while till the 75th GAQP celebration, so please volunteer
now for the 50th!
