Seems like EU still has better openings to W1 and 2 than Atlanta. Loud
signals only hit S9 on occassion including OE6MBG, ON4HIL (worked with my 10
watt Yaesu), a M0 rag chewing with another nearby G who was mobile (not
really readable). Later EA1ALE came thru at S7. The rest of EU was
reaadble just in bursts (DL7OK, SP, HA8, EB7DX, OP4K). On CW A61BK hit 579
for three transmissions working a N3.
I noticed a TA2 on 28498 calling CQ with no answers (S1 to 4) and a 7X2HX on
28502 (worked him) at 5/4 me 5/5 with 100 watts. Seems they were not
copying the rest of the East coast. A W4 said the 7X was booming in Florida
just after my QSO. On 28402 there was a SV2 who briefly hit S5 then was
gone. He came back to me and disappeared during his transmission.
Looks like the band peaks first about 30 to 40 (2030Z) minutes before the
W1/2 area and last week additional EU came in around 2330Z for a second
peak.
12 meters had a brief opening before 10 opened at 20Z. Later there was a W3
working a G who was ESP here. A VP9 was loud but I had to run so did not
stick around.
