I listened for stations and ops in GA, MS, and LA.
I did work my old call K5MDX on two bands but
did not hear W4AN on CW or SSB.

GA stations I did work include:  100 watts max

N4N 2 bands heard on 2 more
K4JJ 2 bands heard on 1 more
N4NE 2 bands
W4GR 2 bands heard on 2 more
NF5GA 1 band
W4GTA 1 band
W4KJ 1 band
W4BOC 1 bnad heard on 1 more

I had just worked a LA station when I had a mini pile up of Pacific Stations 
including a VK4, NH6, and KH2JU on Guam between 0548 and 0551Z on June 27.

The two reasons I heard but did not work some stations is they were either 
too weak (maybe twice)
and generally the station was heard S&Ping and never calling a CQ.  I tried 
twice to call CQ field day near where I heard say W4GR but I got so many 
replies from elsewhere that I left that frequency when the callers thinned 
out.  One time I had a run of 24 stations in 15 minutes and the wife was 
waiting for me upstairs.

One pointer is that if a band is open pick a generally clear frequency and 
call CQ.
