Looking at Dx Summit and MUF maps the Atlanta area is in the wrong place for
12 and 10 meter DX.
I noticed several years ago when the DL was on SSB from CE0Z and other spots
that he was spotted by Europe when there was nothing here.
When the band opened he actually had to call for NA as Europe was still
louder. This same case happens with VP8LP.
Finally yesterday some Dx came through on 12 (CT3, EA, I, ZB2, ZD7). Even a
few came through briefly on 10 and this apperas to be F skip not the E skip
as we saw in June.. But the fact remains LU, PY, YV and even KP4 were
working Europe and Africa when the band was closed here. I often turn the
rig on for the African spot and have worked TN5SN on 12 and 15. W4 was
getting S5 to 7 where most Eu was 5/9.
I hope this will translate into good openings as the fall season approaches
for SE USA.
