[SEDXC] Noise wipes out the bands

I did not have to turn off the main power to find the problem.  The son has 
a Comcast HD terminal which does have
the transformer that changes 12V Dc to 120 AC.

The transformer is flat and was very hot and had a burned smell.  He can 
still do his on line games but until its replaced his TV is out.  I notice 
that several of the flat screen monitors have such a transformer.
I have an old HP Desk jet 500 and the transformer is a much bigger almost 
square box.
