I am saddened too by this new. Ron was my first ever ZL contact as a
novice (WN6PXP) in 1969. After my upgrade, Ron often found me on 10m
phone and continually urged me to improve my CW skills. Many 40 & 80 m
cw QSO's later I had the pleasure meeting Ron f2f at a Visalia DX
Conventions (actually, it was in Fresno back then). We stayed in touch
over the years mostly on CW, sometimes on phone, and occasionally on
RTTY. I will miss him.
