W3CP sent me this... Looks like maybe no Mt. Athos other than Monk Apollo 

SV/A - MOUNT ATHOS
SV1DPI, Kostas, received a phone call from SV2ASP, Monk Apollo, who is
currently away from Mount Athos in Korinthos, Greece.  Monk Apollo
asked Kostas to relay the following information to your editor about
the Latvian Amateur Radio operators who were planning to operate from
Mount Athos starting this week.  "The Official news are that Holy
Council prohibited the entrance of the YL guys in Mount Athos because
they announced a Ham Radio operation without a license from them. I
remind that YL guys had a visa to enter to Mount Athos for this
morning as pilgrims but NOT a license to operate".
