80, 160M SSB. 100W max power. Exchange: Name + SPC. No QSY rule.

6. CQ World Wide DX Contest. 48 hours of weekend UTC. 160-10M SSB.
Exchange: RS + CQ zone. This is, of course, the big SSB contest world
wide. Lots of special contest stations and calls from around the world.
15M was quite good last weekend, so don't overlook the 15M band. 10M
may also be good to the south.
7. Next Tuesday. Phone Fray. See #2 above.
8. Next Wednesday. CWTs. See #3 above.
I will be in Valdosta for work Tuesday and Wednesday, but should have
e-mail access. Hope everyone has a nice week and weekend and a lot of
QSOs, particularly in CQ WW SSB. IF anybody has an e-mail address for
K4QY, please send it to me. Thanks.
I want to express appreciation to Dan Street, K1TO (A-1 Tower Service)
and Jeff Clarke, KU8E, for devoting most of Saturday to lowering my
tower, repairing my TH6DXX feedline, and raising the tower again. This
antenna and tower were purchased used in 1973 and have constantly been
in use since 1975, only having to have the balun replaced once. Dan had
extreme difficulty in getting the tower to crank back up due to
structural damage from tornadoes and other high winds over the years. We
are not likely to be able to get it back up again if we have to crank it
down again. So, fingers crossed for many years before that has to be done.
73, John, K4BAI
