The CW Sprint is a much different contest than SS or CQWW. I can listen
to 2-radios in those contests nearly the entire time. It is generally
very slow in comparison. On the other hand, the Sprint is fast, and there
is a fair amount of data to copy correctly. On top of that, you aren't
just tuning for callsigns in the Sprint. If I only hear "JOHN GA", I know
who it is. You probably would also. But what about "DAVE TX" ? Your
brain has to move fast to peice these bits together.

N6ZZ is doing an article on this past Sprint. We are analyzing several
Sprint tapes and taking data from them. It is actually quite
interesting. Here is a snippet of mine:

CQ Answered - I called CQ or some type of solicitation of QSO. Many times
this was just 'NA K4AAA'.

Called Me After QSO - Only if they called me without my sending anything.

To me, it is interesting to see how many QSOs result from CQing. I used
to think of this contest as purely S&P. Heck, just 2 years ago I hardly
ever called CQ and still made 350 QSOs once.

It is also interesting to see how few QSOs come from stations calling me
right after a QSO.

I have N6TR's audio here, but haven't had any time to review it. I'm
hoping we can post some of this audio somewhere for everyone to
review. I'll be putting more of mine up soon.
