First of all, my apologies to everyone for not sending this out earlier.
Things have been busy at work and home. Several who were signed up on teams
apparently didn't get word of what team they were on; they were the ones who
weren't on the FCG, SECC, and SESprint reflectors. Bill, W4AN, sent me
several guys who wanted to join up, however I didn't save their email
addresses. If you sent your log in already, don't worry. The Cabrillo file
has no space for team entry. The log checker's software automatically
assigns your score to the team you were registered with online.
Here are the scores I have collected so far:
Southern Sprint Coalition #1:
W4AN 409 x 54 = 22,086
N2NL 363 X 55 = 19,965

The Sprint contests are unique in that the competitors primarily compete
against their personal best, instead of each other. Just read the 3830
reflector scores - there are lots of comments of "finally broke 300 QSOs",
and "personal best!" There were lots of "Personal best!" comments this time
around as activity was outstanding. It has been determined that more than
60 multipliers were active during the sprint. Lots of guys broke 300, and
one guy even broke 400. W4AN deserves special note for figuring this
contest out. He is the first to break the 400 QSO barrier, ever, and it is
not unlike running a 3 minute mile. The fact that everyone here got on and
made some QSOs, even if only a part time effort, was paramount in the high
scores everyone produced. Thanks to each and every one of you for being
QRV.
SSC #1's score is totaled because there is something interesting there. I
received the claimed scores from the Southern California Contest Club's #1
team, and our team total's are neck and neck. Their claimed scores total to
166,117 -VS- 164,123 for SSC #1. It was a pretty close competition this
time around.
Thanks again for getting on. The next CW Sprint will be in September.
Hope to see you then!
73, Dave N2NL
