I also made about 26 QSOs in the Region One and RSGB SSB Field Day
Contests, all on 20 SSB and probably about the same number in the FISTS
CW Club G3ZQS Memorial Straight Key Contest. We were out town for most
of Sunday and I missed more than two hours of the CW Sprint due to a
high school alumni society party commemorating the 100th anniversary of
a local football rivalry.

This week's contests:

1. SNS Slow Speed NA Sprint CW Practice. Thursday night local.
0200-0215 Friday UCT. 80-20 CW. 100W maximum power. Dupes OK after
one intervening QSO. One kHz QSY rule. Maximum speed: 23 WPM.
Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC.

2. NA Sprint SSB Practice sessions sponsored by NCCC. Thursday and
Friday nights local. 0230-0259Z Friday and Saturday. Usual NA SSB
rules. Any legal power. No dupes. Mults do not count per band. Usual
1 and 5 kHz QSY rules. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC.

3. FISTS Get Your Feet Wet Weekend. This is the successor to the old
ARRL Novice Round-Ups. 00Z Friday to 24Z Sunday (that's right, 72
hours). 80-10M CW. Exchange: RST + Name + SPC + FISTS # or Power =
Last Two Digits of Year First Licensed. Stations must sign /E
(experienced) or /N for newcomer. Use your own definition. Suggested
frequencies: 3558, 7110, 14110, 21110, 28110. Get on and encourage
some newcomers and build up your CW contest ability.

4. Worked all Europe SSB Contest. 48 hours of Sat and Sun. 80-10M
SSB. Exchange RS and QSO #. It has a QTC feature where you can send
time, call, + of 10 previous QSOs to an European station for more points
for both. 36 hours maximum for single ops.

5. Arkansas QSO Party. 14Z Sat to 06Z Sun; 15-24Z Sun. CW, Ph,
Digital. Exchange: RS(T) + SPC or Ark county. Unfortunately, there is
never a lot of activity in this one. I still need a lot of Ark counties.

6. ARRL VHF QSO Party. 18Z Sat to 03Z Mon. All modes, 50 mHz + up.
Exchange: 4 digit grid square locator.

7. North American Sprint, SSB. Sat night local. Sunday 00-04 UTC.
80-20M SSB. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. QSY rules.

8. Straight Key Century Club Weekend Sprintathon. 00-24Z Sun. 160-10M
CW. Exchange: Name + SPC + SKCC # or power. Use only mechanical keys.

9. QRPARCI End of Summer Digital Sprint. 10-2359Z Sun. Any digital
mode except CW. 160-10M. Exchange: RST + SPC + ARCI # or power out.

There is also a NAQCC CW QRP Sprint Wednesday night local and I'll
summarize that one next week. Hope everyone has a good weekend and a
good week.

Be sure to sign up for a Southeast Sprint Coalition Team for SSB Sprint
by e-mailing ku8e at bellsouth.net. Hope to work you all in several
activities this week. 73, John, K4BAI.
