I had intended to operate in the Ladder event and had the program set
up. First I was to be a QRP Fox for 90 minutes. We had thunderstorms
in the area that finally moved away from here so I could get set up at
0050Z, ten minutes before the start time. I did fairly well, but had to
QRT for 37 minutes due to more lightning in the area and was QRV again
for only the last ten minutes. Made 50 QSOs for a score of 52. (The
foxes get to count the two foxes sort of as "deemed" QSOs.) I was worn
out by then and still concerned about the weather, so I didn't try for
the NS.

THE BIG DOMESTIC CONTEST THIS WEEKEND IS THE NCJ NORTH AMERICAN QSO
PARTY ON SSB. WA1FCN has been trying to get ACG team members. K4BAI
has been trying to get SECC team members. N4PN will be at the
Huntsville Ham Fest and I haven't seen anyone getting up teams for GCG
or SFCG. I hope all of you who work SSB will try to have some fun in
NAQP this weekend. Remember that many of you who belong to GCG and ACG
and SFCG are also members of SECC. Even if you are not, there is no
requirement that you belong to a club to be on a team flying that club's
logo. So, please e-mail me ASAP if you plan to be QRV in NAQP SSB this
weekend and would like to be on a SECC team. I will register the teams
Friday night or Saturday morning. Let me know if you will be running LP
or QRP and the approximate number of hours you hope to operate. Thanks.
This Week's Contests:
1. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Three separate one-hour mini tests every
Wednesday. 1300Z, 1900Z, 0300Z (Thursday UTC date). 160-10M CW.
Exchange: Name + CWOps # or SPC. Look around 026 to 040 kHz on each

RST, SPC, Name, Power. The two foxes this week are K0DTJ, BRIAN, CA

likely take patience and hard work to work the NC fox since he will be
so close to us.

after one intervening QSO. Mults count per band. Look around 080 kHz
