This Week's Contests:
1. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Every Wed local date. Three separate
one-hour mini-tests. 1300Z, 1900Z and 0300Z (Thursday UTC date).
160-10M CW. Exchange: Name + CWOps # or SPC. Look around 038 to 045
kHz on each band. A little lower on 160M.
2. NCCC RTTY Sprint. 0145-0215Z Friday (Thursday night local date).
15, 20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY. 100W maximum power. One/one kHz QSY rule.
Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Mults count per band. Look around
080 kHz and up from 1805 kHz on 160M. Same band dupes OK after one
intervening QSO.
3. QRP Fox Hunt. 0200-0330Z Friday (Thurs night local date). 80M. Two
QRP foxes will be calling between 3550 and 3570 kHz. They will be N4KV,
JOHN, TN and K9JWV, JIM, UT. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power. Maximum
power 5W. Do not spot the foxes' frequencies. Team competition and
teams are registered early each season.
4. NCCC NS Sprint Ladder. This week starts a new ladder series. 15,
20, 40, 80, 160 M CW. 100W maximum power. One/one kHz QSY rule.
Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Mults counted per band. Look
around 040 kHz and up from 1815 kHz on 160M. No same band dupes allowed.
5. North American QSO Party, CW. 160-10M CW. 1800Z Sat to 0559Z Sun.
10 hour maximum operating time. 100W maximum power. Mults count per
band. District of Columbia (DC) has been added as a mult and the
Canadian multipliers have been expanded. Logs are now due 5 days after
the contest. Team competition. For SECC teams, I have, so far, N4IQ,
K4BAI, KU8E, K2SX, WH6YH, AA4GA and WN4AFP. Anyone else? Let me hear
form you ASAP and I will register the teams before the NAQP starts. Same
for SSB NAQP the following Saturday. WA1FCN is registering teams for ACG.
6. Flying Pigs QRP Club January Run for the Bacon. 0200-0400Z Monday
(Sunday night local date). 160-10M CW. 5W maximum power. Exchange:
RST, SPC, FP# or power. Look around 1815, 3560, 7030 or 7040, 14060,
21060, 28060.
7. QRP Fox Hunt. 40M. Tuesday night local date. Everything the same
as for the Thursday night QRP Fox Hunts (see #3 above) except the
frequencies are 7030 to 7050 kHz and the foxes will be N4KV and someone
else yet to be announced (possibly N1FN ET in CO).
8. Phone Fray. Every Tuesday night local date. 0230-0259Z Wednesday.
15, 20, 40, 80, 160M SSB. 100W maximum power. No QSY rule. Exchange:
Name + SPC. Look around 21325, 14250, 7175, 3800, 1865 kHz.
9. North American QRP CW Club January Sprint. 0130-0330Z Thurs (Wed
local date). 20, 40, 80M CW. 5W maximum power. Exchange: RST, SPC,
NAQCC# or power. Look around 14060, 7030 or 7040, and 3560 kHz. Double
your score for use of a hand key and 1 1/2 times your score for use of a
bug. Lot of QRP activity in this one. Next week, same date and time,
there will be a NAQCC Sprint on 160M.
10. CWOps Club CWT. Every Wednesday. See #1 above.
