NOTE: Over the Labor Day Week End, the CWOps Club will have its annual
CW Open contest. It is in three different periods. There is a team
competition for teams from 2 to 10 members. Anyone who wants to be on a
SECC team for the CWOpen should let me know as soon as possible and I
will register the team(s) before the contest starts. Check the rules
and let me know if you are interested in being on a team that you are
interested, what power level you plan to use, and approximately how long
you expect to be QRV. Thanks. For future planning, the weekend of Sept
12-13 will feature the Alabama QSO Party, the TX QSO Party, and the
semi-annual North American Sprint Contest on CW.
This Week's Contests:
1. QRP Fox Hunt. The last hunt of the summer series on 20M. 0100-0230Z
Friday (Thursday night local date). Two QRP Foxes will be QRV between
14050 and 14070 kHz. 5W max power. Work only the two foxes and do not
spot their frequencies. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power. The two
foxes are scheduled to be AJ1DM, JOHN, RI and NK9G, RICK, WI. Apparently
there is bad weather predicted for RI this evening and there is a
possibility that John will not be able to be a Fox. In that case, I am
standing by to be a substitute fox. NEWS FLASH: I will substitute for
AJ1DM tonight. His thunderstorms have already started.
2. NCCC RTTY Sprint. 0145-0215Z Friday (Thursday night local date).
15, 20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY. 100W max power limit. One/one kHz QSY rule.
Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Same band dupes OK after one
intervening QSO. Look around 082 kHz on the higher bands and up from
1805 kHz on 160M.
3. NCCC Sprint Ladder. 0230-0259Z Friday (Thursday night local date).
15, 20, 40, 80, 160M CW. 100W max power. One/one kHz QSY rule.
Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. No same band dupes permitted. Look
around 039 to 047 kHz on the higher bands and up from 1815 kHz on
160M.
4. RTTYOps World Wide RTTY Contestl 1800Z Friday to 1800Z Saturday.
160-10M RTTY. Exchange: four digit year first licensed. Work
everyone. Category overlays for all wire antennas, rookie (licensed
less than 3 years) and age under 25 (Youngster).
5. YO (Romania) DX HF Contest. 1200Z Sat to 1200Z Sun. 160-10M CW,
SSB. ExchangeL RST + serial # or YO county. Work everyone.
6. W/VE Islands QSO Party. 1200Z Sat to 0300Z Sun. 160-6M CW, Ph,
Dig. Exchange: RS(T) + SPC or USI/CISA Island Designation. See rules
for digital exchange. This is usually a phone contest and not too much
activity on any mode.
NOTE: This is the weekend that the Slovenian Contest Club has sponsored
a RTTY contest for years. However, there is no such contest this year.
The SCC website says 2019 was the last SCC RTTY Contest and SCC will be
a co-sponsor of the World Wide Digi DX Contest (see #6). The RTTYops
have jumped into the opening here. See #4 above.
7. World Wide Digi DX Contest. 1200Z Sat to 1200Z Sun. 160-10M FT4/8.
Exchange: 4 character grid square.
8. Kansas QSO Party. 1400Z Sat to 0200Z Sun; 1400-2000Z Sun. 160-6M
CW, SSB, Digital. Exchange: RS(T) + state/ VE sect/ "DX" or KS county
abbreviation. 100 bonus points for a QSO with KS0KS. This one usually
features a lot of activity on CW and SSB and a lot of special event
one-by-one calls.
9. Kentucky State Parts on the Air. 1400-2200Z Sat. 80-10M CW, SSB,
Dig. Exchange: S/P/DX or KY Park abbreviation. Never hear much
activity in this one, but still need a few KY counties all time, so hope
there will be activity from one or some of them this year.
10. QCX Challenge. Three one hour sessions on Monday, local date.
1300Z, 1900Z, 0300Z (Tuesday UTC date). Exchange: RST + Name + SPC +
rig. More ponts for working stations using QCX rigs.
11. Worldwide Side Band Activity Contest. Each Monday night local
date, 0100-0159Z Tuesday. 160-6M SSB. Exchange: RS + OM, or YL, Youth

13. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Three separate one-hour mini=tests
every Wednesday local date. 1300Z, 1900Z, and 0300Z (Thurs UTC date).
160-10M CW. Exchange: Name + CWOps # or SPC. Look around 025 to 052
kHz on the higher bands and lower on 160M.

Hope everyone has a nice and safe week and weekend and a lot of QSOs.
73, John, K4BAI. For SECC.
