This Week's Contests:
1. QRP Fox Hunt 40M. Tuesday (tonight) local date. 0200-0330Z Wed.
Two QRP foxes (KV2X, TOM, NY and NK9G/7, RICK, AZ) will be calling
between 7030 and 7050 kHz. Work only the two foxes and do not spot
their frequencies. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power.
2. Phone Fray. Every Tuesday night local date. 0230-0259Z Wed. 15,
20, 40, 80, 160M SSB. 100W maximum power. No QSY rule. Exchange: Name
+ SPC. Use your NAQP SSB contest module. Look around 21325, 14250,
7175, 3800, and 1875 kHz.
3. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Every Wednesday local date. Three
separate one-hour mini-tests. 1300Z, 1900Z, and 0300Z (Thurs UTC date).
160-10M CW. Exchange: Name + CWOps# or SPC. Look around 025 to 050
kHz on the higher bands and lower on 160M. CWOps is celebrating its
10th anniversary this month and there are a lot of special calls to
work, many ending with "CWO" and ones in the US with one by one calls.
4. NCCC RTTY Sprint. Every Thursday local date. 0145-0215Z Friday. 15,
20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. One/one kHz
QSY rule. 100W maximum power. Same band dupes OK after one intervening
QSO. Look around 080-082 kHz and up from 1805 kHz on 160M.
5. QRP Fox Hunt. 80M. 0200-0330Z Friday (Thursday night local date).
Two QRP Foxes (NR3Z, MARTY, PA and K7GO, LEW, MT) will be calling
between 3550 and 3570 kHz. Otherwise same as #1 agove.
6. NCCC NS Sprint. Every Thursday local date. 0230-0259Z Friday. 15,
20, 40, 80, 160M CW. 100W maximum power. Exchange: both calls, #,
name, SPC. One/one kHz QSY rule. No same band dupes permitted. Look
around 040 kHz on the upper bands and up from 1815 kHz on 160M.
7. YB (Indonesia) DX Contest. 80-10M SSB. Exchange: RS + serial #.
24 hours of Saturday UTC. Work everyone.
8. Straight Key Century Week End Sprintathon. 1200Z Sat to 2359Z Sun.
24 hours maximum operating time. Use only mechanical keys. Exchang:
RST, SPC, Name, CWOps# or "NONE." Look from 050 kHz up on 80-10M and
about 1815 up on 160M. SKCC is celebrating its anniversary this month,
so look for K3Y/# calls to help them celebrate.
9. North American QSO Party, CW. 1800Z Sat to 0559Z Sun. Single ops
have a 10 hour maximum time limit. Off times must be at least 30
minutes. Exchange: Name + SPC. Multipliers count per band so some may
ask you to QSY to another band. Team competition. Contact WA1FCN for
an ACG team or K4BAI for a SECC team. This is a very popular domestic
contest and therefore can be a lot of fun. 100W power limit.
Multipliers are States (including Hawaii), Provinces or Canadian areas,
DC, and North American countries. Stations outside NA count for points,
but not as multipliers. DX stations outside NA send only Name as exchange.
10. Four State QRP Group 2nd Sunday Sprint. 0100-0300Z Mon (Sunday
night local date). 160-10M CW, SSB. Exchange: RS(T) + 4S# or power.
11. Next Week. Tuesday night 40M QRP Fox Hunt. See #1 above. Foxes
will be AB1DM, JOHN, RI and N4TMM, JIM, GA.
Hope everyone has a nice week and weekend and a lot of QSOs. 73, John,
K4BAI.
