This Week's Contests:
1. NCCC RTTY Sprint. Every Thursday local date, 0145-0215Z
Friday. 15, 20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY. 100W max power. One/one kHz QSY
rule. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Same band dupes OK after one
intervening QSO. Look around 080-090 kHz on the higher bands and up
from 1805 kHz on 160M.
2. NCCC NS Sprint. Every Thursday local date, 0230-0259Z Friday. 15,
20, 40, 80, 160M CW. 100W max power. One/one kHz QSY rule. Exchange:
both calls, #, name, SPC. No same band dupes permitted. Look around
040 to 046 kHz on the higher bands and up from 1815 kHz on 160M.
3. K1USN Slow Speed Test (SST). 2000-2100Z Friday. 160-10M CW.
Exchange: Name + SPC. Mults (SPC) count per band. Maximum speed 20
WPM. Look around 029 to 052 kHz on higher bands and around 1820 kHz on
160M.
4. 10-10 Internatnional Sprint Contest, Digital. 48 hours of Sat/Sun
UTC time. 10M Digital. Exchange: Name + 10-10# (or "0" if you don't
have one) + SPC.
5. QRP to the Field (TTF). 0800-1800Z Sat. 80-10M CW/SSB. Max power:
5W CW, 10W SSB. Exchange: RS(T), SPC, Name. SPC and SOTA summits
count as multipliers. So SOTA stations would have to send their summit,
I assume. Suggested frequencies CW: 3560, 7030/7040, 14060, 21060,
28060. SSB: 3985, 7285, 14285, 21385, 28885 kHz. CW SOTA: 3563,
7063, 14063, 21063, 28063 + or - two kHz. Send only a summary sheet
which you can download from the website.
6. SP (Poland) DX RTTY Contest. 1200Z Sat to 1200Z Sun. 80-10M RTTY.
Exchange: RST + serial # or SP province. Work everyone.
7. Helvetia Contest. 1300Z Sat to 1259Z Sun. 160-10M CW, SSB, Dig. 18
hours max operating time with two rest periods. Exchange: RS(T) +
serial # or two letter Swiss canton. Formerly, you could work only
Swiss stations, but I think you may be able to work anybody now. I
can't find the rules to confirm this though.
8. North American Sprint, SSB. 0000-0400Z Saturday. 20, 40, 80M SSB.
Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. One/Five kHz QSY rule. There is a
team competition and I will be glad to register members for a team or
teams if there is any interest. I will be a part of a team if we have
one, but I am challenged by poor antennas at the moment and I can't run
much power on 20M since my transceiver has very little output on bands
above 40M. Let me know if you want to be on a team.
9. ANZAC Day Contest. 1200Z Sun to 1159Z Mon. 160-10M CW, SSB, FT8.
Exchange: RS(T) + serial #. On FT8, send signal report and grid
square. Work only VK/ZL stations.
10. UA1DX Memorial Cup. 1300-1859Z Sunday. 80-10M CW, SSB. Exchange:
RS(T) + 4-character grid squae or Russian RDA district.
12. BARTG Sprint 75. 1700-2059Z Sunday. 80-10M 75 baud RTTY.
Exchange: serial #. Work everyone.
13. K1USN Slow Speed Test (SST). 0000-0100Z Monday (Sunday night local
date). See # 3 above.
14. Straight Key Century Club (SKCC) Week Day Sprint (SKS). 0000-0200Z
Wed (Tuesday night local date). 160-6M CW. Use a mechanical key.
Exchange: RST, SPC, name, SKCC# or "NONE." Bonus station is John, K2IZ.
15. A1 Club AWT. Every Wed 1200-1300Z CW. Exchange: RST + Name.
The A1 Club is in Japan so much of the activity involves JA stations.
Look for them on the low end of 40M and possibly 80M.
16. CWOps Club CWT Tests. Every Wed/Thurs. Four separate one-hour
tests. 1300Z and 1900Z Wed. 0300Z and 0700Z Thurs. 160-10M CW.
Exchange: Name + CWOps# or SPC. Look around 023 to 052 kHz on the
higher bands and up from 1815 kHz on 160M.
17. 432 MHz Spring Sprint. 1900-2300 local time Wed. 432 mHz any
mode. Exchange: 4-character grid square.
I will be in Valdosta Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, so the weekly
report may be late. The following weekend (April 30-May 1) will have
the Florida QSO Party (watch for W4AN mobile with K4BAI and KU8E
operating and many other mobiles--no 80M operation), the Russian
WorldWide MultiMode Contest, and the UK/EI (United Kingdon and Ireland)
DX Contest, CW. And the following Monday night local date the monthly
ARS Spartan Sprint QRP CW.
Hope everyone has a nice week and weekend and a lot of QSOs. 73, John,
K4BAI. For SECC.
