Coming up soon will be the semi-annual North American QSO Party on CW.
It runs 1800Z Sat to 0559Z Sun. Maximum operating time for single ops
is 10 hours. 160-10M CW. Exchange is simple: Name + SPC for North
American and Hawaii stations. Name + "DX" for stations outside NA and
HI. Mults are SPC and they count per band. So it pays to operate all
bands if you can.

Teams are made up of two to five members. SECC will register as many
teams as we have interested ops. Team members do not need to be members
of SECC and do not have to live in any particular geographical area. Of
course, most will be members of SECC and most will be in our general
geographical area. However, feel free to invite friends and others who
may not have their own teams to join.

Please let K4BAI know ASAP your availability for a team. Please include
whether you will try to be full time (10 hours or nearly that) or part
time. If part time, please give an estimate of time you might be able
to devote to it.

There is no high power category, so the maximum power is 100W. QRP
entries (up to 5W output) will be indicated in the results which are
published in the National Contest Journal.

Note that single ops may be assisted or non-assisted this year. These
are separate categories, but both category ops may be on teams.

There will be a SSB version of this same event on the weekend of August
20/21, That often conflicts with the Huntsville (AL) hamfest and I
think that is the case this year. SECC will enter teams in the SSB
event also.

Note: In counting your off time if you are going to be full time or
near to it, be sure every off time is at least 30 minutes. That means
if you make your last QSO at 0100Z for example, you may not make the
next QSO until 0131Z. If you make it at 0130Z, you will have taken off
only 29 minutes and all will be counted as on time.

Any questions to K4BAI or others knowledgeable on the SECC reflector.
You can find the official rules by an internet search for "NCJ North
American QSO Party Rules 2022."

I will register teams late on Friday August 5 or early August 6. I
cannot receive e-mail at this address (k4bai at att.net) except when I am
at the office or using a laptop during travels, so if you need to
contact after 5 PM on Friday, August 5, send your e-mail to
k4bai at ku8e.com or call me on the telephone. Home phone is 706 561-7391
and there is an answering machine.

73, John, K4BAI. For SECC.
