A reminder.(Friday evening), 1200-1600Z and 2000-2400Z Saturday. Teams
of from two to eminder: CW Open contest is this Saturday UTC date.
0000-0400Z ten members may be pre-registered. I will register SECC
team(s) by late Friday afternoon. At this time, I have 11 people
interested in being on a team and I'd like to have two full teams. You
do not need to be a member of SECC or live in any particular
geographical area. Here ate the ones I have so far: K4BAI, KU8E,
KB3FW, W8FN, KT4O, KY4GS, N4OX, NN4K, N4IJ, K8LBQ, AA5JF. If I got that
wrong or left out someone, please let me know ASAP. Also, please let me
know if I can add you to the list. It will help for me to now whether
you will be full time or part time and what power level you will be
using. Thanks for your interest. This is a fun contest. Please use
the k4bai at att.net e-mail address as I will be at the office all day Friday.
Also, remember that KU8E is looking for Southeast Sprint Coalition team
members for NCJ North American Sprint CW. E-mail Jeff about that at
ku83 at ku8e.com.

This Week's Contests:
1. G3ZQS Memorial Straight Key Contest. 2300Z Thurs to 2300Z Sat.
80-10M CW. Use a straight key, of course. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name,
FISTS# or power output. Look around up 058 kHz on each band. Call is
"CQ FS."
2. KRC K1USN Slow Speed Test (SST). 2000-2100Z Friday. 160-10M CW.
Exchange: Name + SPC. Maximum speed 20 WPM. Look around 029 to 052
kHz on the higher bands and around 1820 kHz on 160M.
3. All Asian DX Contest, Phone. 48 hours of weekend UTC. 160-10M
Phone. Exchange: RS + two-digit age. YLs may send age as "00."
4. Russian RTTY World Wide Contest. 24 hours of Saturday UTC. 80-10M
RTTY. Exchange: RST + CQ Zone or two-digit Russian oblast.
5. CWOps Club CW Open. 0000-0359Z Sat; 1200-1559Z Sat; 2000-2359Z Sat.
Open to all. 160-10M CW. Exchange: QSO# + name. There is a team
competition also. The same station may be worked on each band in each
of the three sessions. Hope all will participate to the extent they
have time even if not on a team.
6. Colorado QSO Party. 1300Z Sat to 0400Z Sunday. All bands except
WARC and 60M. CW., Ph, Dig. Exchange: Name + S/P/DX country prefix or
Colorado County. There are powr multipliers. Suggested freqeuncies: Up
50 kHz on CW. SSB: 1870, 3850, 7250, 14250, 21350, 28450 kHz.
7. IARU Region One Field SSB and RSGB Field Day, SSB. 1300Z Sat to
1300Z Sun. 160-10M SSB for Region One and 80-10M SSB for RSGB.
Exchange: RS + serial #. 400W max power for RSGB. I think it may be
100W max for Region One. No need to worry about power limits if you are
in the USA. You can just work any you hear to help them out in their FD.
8. Tennessee QSO Party. 1800Z Sun to 0300Z Monday. All contest bands
CW, Ph, Dig. Exchange: RS(T) + SPC or TN county. 100 bonus points for
each QSO with K4TCG. THERE IS A CLUB COMPETITION, so be sure to include
your club in the header of your Cabrillo log. For SECC, put it in as
"South East Contest Club." Suggested frequencies: CW: 1815 kHz and up
40 kHz. SSB: 1855, 3820, 7240, 14280, 21390, 28390 kHz. There are
usually a lot of mobiles QRV. Lets support our neighbors to the north
as they usually support our GQP.
9. KRC K1USN Slow Speed Test (SST). 0000-0100Z Monday (Sunday night
local date). See # 2 above.
10. ICWC Medium Speed Tests (MST). Every Monday/Tuesday. Three
separate one-hour medium speed contests. Maximum speed: 25 WPM.
1300Z and 1900Z Monday and 0300Z Tuesday. Exchange: Name + QSO #.
160-10M CW. Look around 030 to 045 kHz.
11. Michigan QRP Club Labor Day Sprint. 160-6M CW. 5W max power.
2300Z Mon to 0300Z Tuesday. Exchange: RST + SPC + Mi QRP# or power.
Bonus mult for QSO with WQ8RP. Also mults for using homebrew gear.
12. Adventure Radio Society Spartan Sprint. 0100Z to 0300Z Tuesday. 5W
max power. 80-10M CW. Exchange: RST + SPC + power. Yes these two QRP
events overlap. Since you don't submit a log for the Spartan Sprint
(just your number of QSOs and weight of station equipment (default is
over 30 pounds or "Tubby")), you can just create one log for both
events. Submit the whole log for the MiQRP event and extract info for
your e-mail report summary for ARS Spartan Sprint.
13. CWOps Club CWT Tests. Every Wed/Thurs. 160-10M CW. Four separate
one hour tests. Exchange: Name + CWOps# or SPC. 1300Z and 1900Z Wed
and 0300Z and 0700Z Thurs. Look around 023 to 052 kHz on the higher
bands and up from 1815 kHz on 160M.
Hope everyone has a nice week, weekend, and Labor Day with a lot of
QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI.
