[Skimmertalk] SDR Failure: usb:control_msg failed

I just got a QS1R and I'm trying to start RTTY Skimmer Server, and I get the
above error in the RTTY Skimmer GUI.  Anyone know how to get past that?  The
device managers shows libusbK Usb Devices in its list and QS1R Direct
Sampling Receiver below.

 

Running Win8.1, i7 CPU, 16 GB RAM, USB 3 ports 'dumbed down' to USB2.  The
QS1R SDRMAXV software works fine with the radio using this setup.
