One reason is that you cannot buy a new QS1R at present, and the expected
successor (QS2R?) has not emerged. I'd like to find another one, and haven't
been successful.

I may be missing something, but why don't you use a 7 band QS1R and connect
to local telnet port with your logging software?

Both Writelog and HDSDR support OmniRig, and HDSDR will synchronize your K3
VFO A frequency with the HDSDR cursor, if that's what you're looking for.
