[Skimmertalk] Red Pitaya Input 2

Using CWSL_Tee with six receiver slices assignable in any combination to
Inputs 1 and 2, you can already run CW Skimmer, RTTY Skimmer, HDSDR (as
many copies as you like), and receive on WSJT-X on 6 bands using Virtual
Audio Cable (VAC) to feed the audio output of HDSDR to WSJT-X, all in
parallel on a single PC. I don't think the Hermes interface standard
supports simultaneous access by multiple PCs to a Hermes receiver stream.
Making that work would probably require a ton of new programming.
All of the fancy Red Pitaya apps reprogram the FPGA with a custom binary
file before starting, so I assume the FPGA can only be programmed to do one
thing at a time, even with two input streams coming from the two ADCs. Of
course the Oscilloscopeope app / dual channel signal generator is sort of
doing 4 things at once in a single app., but that's not the same as
streaming the Ethernet output to two PCs simultaneously.

Since the rp has 2 a/d's would it not be possible to set up two versions of
the application to timeshare and output two separate streams from the two
inputs? I'm thinking of streaming 2 sets of data over the Ethernet port to
different computers or different instances of the hermesintf.dll on one
computer to use cw or rtty skimmer or other apps on the pc's... or is the
fpga or cpu up against some limit on handling what it does for one
instance??

The FPGA can only be configured to run one application at a time, so running
both apps at the same time it's not supported.
