_______________________________________________I'm running the ELAD S2 with Skimmer Server to send spots to the RBN on two bands. Since I've switched to a Win ttt 11 computer, I find the S2 will not run long - an hour to several hours, seems to vary. The pgm shows no spots, 0 % CPU but continues to "run" (doesn't hang) but does nothing. If I exit that and run the Elad software it starts but shows the S meter pinned. If I power cycle the S2 it works fine. And so the cycle starts again... works for a "while".I have another S2 and a DUO, both running the same v1.6 on Win 10 and they run "forever". I can exchange the S2's and the problem stays with the Win 11 computer. Win 11 is up to date and the Skimmer Server is the latest 1.6.Any idea what I'm doing wrong or how I can make it behave better with Win 11?Thanks, DonVE6JYOn Tue, Feb 21, 2017 at 12:05 PM Don Moman VE6JY <ve6jy.1@gmail.com> wrote:Thanks to Bob and Pete, we have success!Got the right ini file installed in the right directory - note to self - Skimmer and SkimmerServer are not the same directories hi! Now skimming all the band I need to. Even during the ARRL CW with several thousand reported spots in 30m the cpu load was ~10% on a i5 3320m laptop. And downloaded the dll files for the S2 from http://sdr.eladit.com/FDM-S2%20Sampler/ExtIO%20Dlls%20for%20use%20with%20%20third%20party%20software/Skimmer_Server_Dll_1_00/index.php?lang=ENInstalled all 3 files in the Skimmer Server directory and life is good. The S2 can do the skimming and I can use the Duo for other projects.73 DonOn Mon, Feb 20, 2017 at 6:12 AM, Bob Wilson, N6TV <n6tv@arrl.net> wrote:Don,Comments below.73,Bob, N6TVOn Fri, Feb 17, 2017 at 7:25 PM, Don Moman VE6JY <ve6jy.1@gmail.com> wrote:First question... cw limits. I have chosen 192 khz in the skimmer server
(v1.5). However Aggregator 4.3 reports the bandwidth is quite a bit less.
For example, on 160m I can only cover up to 1840 khz. I've attempted to
change this via the ini files, with no luck. Obviously I'm missing
something as there should be lots of spots above 1840.Probably the wrong SkimSrv.ini file was changed, or Aggregator is using a different one than the that one that was edited. Look in:%appdata%\Afreet\Products\SkimSrv\SkimSrv.iniand compare it to the one edited, and to the one specified by Aggregator under the .ini files tab. %appdata% will automatically expand toC:\Users\yourWindowsID\AppData\Roamingwhen used in a File | Open dialog or CD command. If everything looks OK, send us a copy of your SkimSrv.ini file so we can have a look.Second question... I also have the Elad FDM-S2 rx, using the same software
as the Duo. I would much rather use this device but it isn't recognized by
the software. Is there a way to enable it? The drop menu only shows the
Quicksilver and the Duo, yet I know others are using the Perseus and SDR-IQ
receivers for skimmer server so there must be a way to add more devices?First, open a command prompt with Administrator Privileges (right click on the Comand Prompt icon, then select Run as adminstrator). Next, copy the ExtIO DLL supplied with the Elad into your SkimSrv installation directory, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Afree\SkimSrv\ .Exit and restart SkimSrv and the Elad should be listed..73,Bob, N6TV
